Avant-garde Tradition Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy from Nanto
We are pleased to present a special exhibition titled “Avant-garde Tradition Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy from Nanto ”
In this exhibition we are exhibiting contemporary calligraphy by the group of artists who live and work in Nanto-city, Toyama prefecture. The works we introduce are exceeding category of “Calligraphy” and “Painting” and they are expressing the “form” that was born from Japanese esthetics.
These seven female artists are creating the world of beauty that was cultivated in wonderful nature in Toyama prefecture by using sumi-ink of monotone.
Without paying attention to the information and new art and trend, these works are created purely. We believe that the works show the origin of Japanese sense of beauty and they are the real world of “Cool Japan”.
